The Crashing Down film is taking all my time, so haven’t been posting on this blog (got too many places to post)! I’ll be keeping the Crashing Down blog up to date as we begin shooting. Which, by the way, is happening THIS month
We set up shop in Houston yesterday at 2 different studios to shoot some footage for a short teaser for Crashing Down over the weekend, and MAN, the footage looks amazing.
I’ll probably post some screen grabs pretty soon. The image is so big (We’re shooting 4k) that it won’t all fit on the screen. The latitude is amazing too. We did a shot where the camera is pointing right at the sun and the main character does some stuff in front of that — the sun sometimes blocked, sometimes not — and even when he’s not blocking the sun, I can still see detail in his face.
Freakin’ amazing.
It’s official. John Hafner has been cast as Daniel in Crashing Down. He’s an up-and-coming talent to keep an eye on, with a powerful screen presence and the chops to match. Check out his site:
After some shifting of gears, a project has finally been christened and set in motion. It’s called Crashing Down.
“It’s similar to “O brother where art thou” but instead of Homer’s Odyssey, it’s core is based on Dante’s Inferno. Set in Modern day, it’s about a guy who’s been getting slammed by a rough economy while trying to start a family. He goes on a journey through a sort of ‘hell’ with the intention of setting them up for life, while taking down some of the local underworld along the way.”
The script has been written, broken down, scheduled, budgeted, and we’re currently storyboarding scenes. We’ll put up some of these at some point so keep an eye out. I hope you like bunnies — there’re bunnies everywhere.
Man, I’ve been in Austin for half a month now, and I’m JUST NOW GETTING INTERNET! And, this is early — they originally told me it would take the whole month. And I thought the service at CommieCast sucked. For shame Time Warner for eating not one day, BUT TWO! (came late on Friday after I waited all day, couldn’t get it to work, came back late the next evening)
Loving the new job at gamewager.net. KIX ASS and makes some of the other frustrations related to moving worth it. If you play CS:S or CS:1.6, then go check out the site. More games coming soon
I use FF as my main browser, and at work we need to check what we build in every browser ever made (okay, not really, but close). I can’t believe how broken things are looking in FF? WHY!!

My second cover for them.
They just keep growing and growing and growing….
Check your local book store.
Maybe that’s a good thing?
Because of all the film stuff I’ve been doing, I had to put my music on the back burner for a bit. I recently started getting into Ableton Live, and decided it might be a good replacement for all my recording needs — but because of the aforementioned film stuff, haven’t had time to really dig into it. But now, because we need some music for a party scene, I get to put it to the test. Let’s hope my high hopes stay high….
What? Why are you doing that in After FX?
That’s for a later post.
